Anyone who has spent more than a minute in Gor is likely to have heard of at least one of the multitude of made up ‘Gorean positions’. Of course, a person can make up a position, and call it whatever they like – this isn’t the issue. The issue is when said people start referring to this made up position as a ‘Gorean position’ – when in reality it has as much to do with Gor as fish do with snowflakes! None.
I won’t go into details about these positions, other than to say if you come across some who uses them, chances are they’re either a roleplayer or just a pretender. I haven’t met anyone in real life who uses these positions.
- He-Sleen (possibly a position, as ‘she-sleen’ is one, but it’s never mentioned in the books)
- High-Bracelets, Low-Bracelets (there is only ‘bracelets’)
- High-Lesha, Low-Lesha (only one ‘lesha’)
- Karta
- Ko’lar
- Masters’ Kiss
- No-Threat
- Obey / Obey-Me / Show-Obedience
- Prostrate (used in the books, but not a stand-alone position. Used most widely by those who don’t know the meaning of the word!)
- Slavers Kiss / Slavers Caress / Whip Caress
- Suga
- Sula-ki
- Table
- Thentis
- Tile
I’m sure there are others, and new ones forming rapidly – these are just the ones I’ve had the misfortune of coming across, and even been ‘taught’ some when I was first starting out in Gor!
I wish you well,
kamira.
